ADMISSIONS TO RECEPTION
All of the information that parents need in order to apply for a place at St. Columba’s Catholic Primary School can be found on the following link taking you to ‘North Tyneside Council School Admissions’.
As we are a Catholic Primary school, our admissions criteria is set by the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle and approved by our Local Governing Body. The criteria is detailed in the admissions policy below. Please can we draw your attention to the specific categories for admission to our school.

In accordance with the School Admission Appeals Code, the Council as the admission authority for community schools must set a timetable for organising and hearing appeals.
ADMISSIONS TO NURSERY
St Columba’s can offer up to 26 places in our Nursery. Children attend morning sessions Monday to Friday. One Nursery session is 3 hours in length – 15 hours for the week. We do also offer places for those families entitled to 30 hours.
Applications for Nursery places should be made directly to the school. Please contact Mrs D Wallace at the school office if you would like to request a Nursery application form.
Please note that a place at St. Columba’s Nursery DOES NOT guarantee a place in St. Columba’s Catholic Primary School.
ADMISSIONS TO SECONDARY SCHOOL
Our feeder secondary school is St. Thomas More RC Academy in North Shields.
Details on how to apply for secondary school places can be found on the North Tyneside website:
Please note that a place in St. Columba’s Roman Catholic Primary school is not a guarantee of a place at St. Thomas More RC Academy. Details of their admissions criteria can be found in the policy listed on their website.
