From the first day we support your child to develop positive relationships through structured play and individual interests. We have an engaging, bright and colourful indoor and outdoor enabling environment that is safe and secure for your child to explore their learning. Please arrange a visit at anytime by ringing the School Office and ask for an appointment to meet with Miss O’Connor, our Nursery Teacher.

We offer 15 hours of provision or 30 hours of provision for families who meet the eligibility criteria. Please email the School Office if you would like further information about this.

FOREST SCHOOL ETHOS

At St Columba’s Nursery we provide the children with the opportunity to regularly participate in a Forest School program, alongside a fully qualified and skilled Forest School leader. (Miss O’Connor.) All of our ‘Forest School’ sessions are based within our own natural grounds.

This commitment is based on our belief that each child is unique and independently competent. The Forest school program promotes holistic learning experiences that contribute significantly to the development of the whole child. This is done by providing a creative, stimulating and child-centered natural environment which allows the children time to experiment with real life first hand experiences that develop independent thinking and social interactions.

The Forest School ethos is created by a number of overlapping factors, illustrated by the diagram below.

Please ask for an appointment to come and visit our Nursery and see Forest School learning in action!
