In Y4 we have spent many weeks enthralled with the history of Ancient Egypt! Last week, we learned about Howard Carter’s incredible discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun. Using all that knowledge, we composed our own diaries as if we were Howard Carter himself, imagining we had found the young Pharaoh’s resting place in the Valley of the Kings undisturbed for millennia!
And, as his own diary is almost 100 years old now, we made our paper look old too, and wrote our final draft on that. All of our work is now on display in our classroom. It proudly includes a photograph of Simeon’s Great Grandad, Fred Barber, who was an officer in the Queen’s Bays Regiment and who lived in North Shields.
