Our school meals are provided by North Tyneside’s Catering Services. They aim to devise healthy, well-balanced menus that pupils will enjoy. All meals are freshly prepared in our school every morning and meet the rigorous school food guidelines set out by the Government.
For just £2.25 per day, your child can enjoy a choice of freshly cooked main courses accompanied by fresh salad or vegetables, bread and a tasty pudding.
All children in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 are eligible for Universal Infant Free School Meals, but you must complete an application form to register.
School meals should be paid for from Y3 to Y6 unless you qualify for Free School Meals – see the information below. Meals must be paid for before they are taken and at least weekly in advance.
Paying online means that you can do this at a time that’s convenient for you. Pay for school meals online at www.joinos.com (see information below).
If you would like to know any further information, or would like your child to have a school meal, please see Mrs Craggs at the school office or view the ‘Contact Us’ details below.

Paying for School Meals
JOINOS allows you to manage your child’s school meal account. By using JOINOS you will be able to check meals taken, balances and make payments. Please register even if your child takes a packed lunch to ensure they are only coming in for a meal when you want them to. Please ensure you pay in advance to avoid receiving an invoice at the
end of each academic year.

At St. Columba’s we offer a drink of milk to all pupils who would like it during the school day.
Milk is excellent as a mid-morning drink. It provides a nutritional boost and keeps children hydrated between breakfast and lunch, helping them to concentrate and learn.
For any child under the age of 5 years old, milk is provided free of charge. For any child over the age of 5 years, milk must be paid for, unless a child is eligible for free school meals.
Within North Tyneside, we use a company called Cool Milk as our suppliers. Cool Milk will deliver each pupil who registers 189ml of milk at a subsidised price of 22p per child per day.
If you would like any further information, please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs Craggs at the school office or see the website link below.
