Thank you for the tremendous support you have given to all of the staff, children and each other over the last few weeks. I know this will continue, albeit through virtual means, in the forthcoming weeks and months. We are all very privileged to be part of St. Columba’s school family.
We have set work for the children and suggested possible timetables you could follow. We will update these on a weekly basis, every Friday. Don’t forget to use our Home Learning Helpline where we will try to answer any questions or queries you may have. This is available every day from 10:00am to 11:00am. Log into Twitter to see pictures of your child’s friends completing their home learning activities too!
However the main thing we are asking you to do during this unprecedented time is to stay safe and take care of each other. As a society, we have never experienced anything like this before and, for all of us, the reality of staying at home and not seeing friends and extended family is a daunting one. There may be days when, as a family, you just need to play in the garden, read a book, watch a movie or bake a cake. Try not to battle with rigid timetables amongst the other stresses and strains. Try not to lose your temper or argue with resistance. Tomorrow is a new day! Our mental health and well-being and how your child feels during this unusual time is far more important. Calmness, comfort, security and love are key.
We look forward to seeing you all again when this crisis is over. Until then, take care and stay safe.
