Linking with our RE Reconciliation topic, ‘Building Bridges’, we used the following BBC video to start a class conversation about why it important to connect and communicate with people, how healthy friendships make you feel included and valued, and how this affects our brain and has a positive impact on our wellbeing.

We discussed the different ways in which we can connect with people and the different relationships we have.

We used Ten:Ten resources to create a ‘Friendship Cake’, composing our own phrases to describe what is needed to make a good healthy friendship, based both on past experience and recent learning in RE.  Could the children think of a person who was a good example of friendship?

We reminded ourselves of the Wellbeing ‘rules’ we had composed together at the start of the year…
