Y4 Maths: Reasoning in Practical Measuring

We have been completing reasoning tasks this week in maths, in practical measuring with litres and millilitres .

The questions we investigated were:

If you take an empty litre bottle, where would the litre mark be?  What is a litre in ml?  Could you divide the litre in half or quarters?  Could you divide the litre into 10 equal parts?  Approximately, of course!  Can you draw these divisions on the litre bottle?  What would each part be worth? Pour what you estimate to be 100ml into this plastic cup.  Check using measuring jug.  Were you close?  What if I… the list is endless!
