Forest School in Reception

Forest School in Reception

We have enjoyed our Forest School sessions this term.

Through our Forest School sessions the children develop their personal, social and emotional skills.

The children have had fun working together, collecting autumn leaves, building dens, finding fairies and bugs and playing in the mud kitchen.

“Look at all the bugs under this log!”

“Bugs like to live under the ground and in dark places.”

We read the story ‘Stick Man’ by Julia Donaldson. We enjoyed exploring the forest to find lots of different sticks. The children made their own stick men out of sticks and pipe cleaners. Look how brilliant our stick men and stick ladies look!

We wrote some super sentences about our stick man, which we have displayed in our classroom.

We look forward to lots more Forest School fun next term. 🙂
