The longest half-term of the year (I hope) staggered to an end this week with another hectically busy time in Y6. We finished our work on the circulation system with a demonstration lesson for SCITT trainees then moved swiftly on to learn about the perils of smoking cigarettes. Figures supplied by ASH (the anti-smoking organisation) which suggest that almost 20% of Y6 children will smoke cigarettes before the age of 11 mean that this series of lessons is still relevant. Staff from the NSPCC visited on Wednesday to remind us of children’s rights and the support offered by Childline. On Friday we investigated square numbers. What larks!
