We’re on to the second installment of the first Y6 science topic of the year entitled, as you know, “How To Live Longer (or die trying)”. The children have been learning about the heart – its structure and functions – and its place in the human circulation system. That’s the science bit. We went in the hall and animated a huge, hall-size model of the circulation system where the pupils acted as red blood cells, transporting oxygen & carbon-dioxide through arteries and veins, carrying out a variety of aerobic exercises as they went. That was the PE bit. Music? The whole thing was performed to a great blast of 1960s James Brown funk.
I Feel Good! Phew!
