It has been a busy week in Year 4 and the children have all been working very hard in their lessons.
We have been looking at the Horrid Henry stories by Francesca Simon and have greatly enjoyed them. We have imagined ourselves as Horrid Henry, answering questions set by the class. We also used a range of adjectives to describe both Horrid Henry and Perfect Peter.
In Maths we have been looking at place value and the size of numbers. We have been learning about the signs for greater than and less than (<, >) and have been thinking about when we would use these in number sentences. The children have also been learning their times tables, with tests every Friday.
The human body is our topic in Science this term and we have begun by looking at the digestive system. The children have been both disgusted and amazed whilst finding out the length of the small intestines, the job of the stomach and the journey of poo!!!
We are focussing on Egypt this term. We have already learnt about the pyramids and the Pharaohs. We have looked and the geography of Ancient Egypt and have learnt that there were only 3 seasons; Inundation, Emergence & Drought.
