Chatterbooks is a monthly club run by Wallsend Library. A group of avid Year 5 and 6 readers are taken down to the Library on a Wednesday lunchtime to discuss the book they have been reading that month.
Reading for pleasure is more important to children’s successes than education or social class. Chatterbooks reading clubs help children build a lifelong reading habit.
The children sometimes choose a book that interests them and sometimes the book is selected for them so that they try different genres and styles of writing.
