Y6’s Prodigal Daughter assembly and some maths reasoning…Y6…27th Sept

A frantic week in Y6 with an assembly to plan, prepare, practise, produce and perform – all in two afternoons!  Not to mention the fact that it’s the CAFOD Harvest Fast Day Lunch next Friday!  And the Buddy assembly is imminent!

Naturally, the Y6 children (blissfully aware of all of the above) rose to the challenge and enacted a fine – though slightly rewritten – version of The Prodigal Son story cleverly entitled “The Prodigal Daughter”. The pupils all contributed to the story with some genuinely talented acting on view. The assembly included the debut of a new song, performed quietly yet expressively and thoughtfully.

Among all this we even managed to fit in a maths lesson or two, the highlight of which was one young mathematician’s explanation of something he’d noticed when exploring patterns in a subtraction investigation.
