Science, RE, PE & Music in Y6…week 6…October 11th

No rest for the wicked.  Y6 are back from High Borrans and straight into another busy week.  We completed the Buddy Pen-Portrait display for the hall and made welcome cards for the Buddy assembly on Thursday which was as simple, yet as touching, as ever.  We continued learning about the circulation system in science with investigations into how quickly our pulse rates return to normal after strenuous exercise (or gentle exercise in some cases) and augmented this with my favourite lesson of the year, “Heart Aerobics” – a hall-sized working model of the human body around which the pupils, cunningly disguised as blood cells, transported molecules of oxygen and carbon-dioxide, all to the music of “I Feel Good” by the immortal James Brown.  We finished Friday afternoon with a class liturgy led by four pupils to celebrate the end of our first RE topic of the year.  Oh, and we also did some English and Maths, too, because that’s all we do in Y6, isn’t it?
